• Washington University in St. Louis, Ph. D.
• CHANGFU CHENG earned his Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in the United States, under the supervision of the renowned scientist Professor Gross who holds joint appointments in both the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Medicine.
• CHANGFU CHENG is one of the earliest deuterium-based innovative drug scientists in the United States. He is the founder of Concert Pharmaceuticals, Inc. During his tenure, he led a team in researching over 600 deuterated drugs and applied for more than 200 deuterated drug patents, obtaining over 100 patent grants. Over 20 drugs entered the clinical research stage, with three receiving NDA approvals.
• After establishing X-Cutag Inc. in 2017, CHANGFU CHENG led the construction of a rapid and accurate drug molecular modification platform called NCE’s (New Chemical Entities) . Based on this platform, he independently developed 15 innovative drugs, out of which 8 have been filed for U.S. patents, 2 have been granted U.S. patents, and 1 has entered IND research.
• Meanwhile, the NCE’s platform has assisted numerous partners in the United States and China in modifying and improving innovative drugs during preclinical and clinical research, facilitating drug transactions or approvals for market entry.
• Currently, under the leadership of Dr. Cheng, the NCE’s platform has delved into deeper levels of research on deuterated drugs, achieving significant breakthroughs in drug toxicity decrease, bioavailability increase, and efficacy enhancement.
